ABOUT UTDC

The University of Toronto Dance Club (UTDC) consists of university & college students, faculty, staff, and alumni as well as other individuals in the community who are interested in dance related activities. We have been the home of partner dances for over a decade. We strive to create a warm, encouraging environment for dancers at all levels.

WHAT WE OFFER

1. Dance Classes & Workshops
UTDC offer a variety of dance classes in four terms: Fall (Sep-Nov), Winter (Jan-Mar), Spring (May-Jun), and Summer (Jul-Aug). Some of the dances we offer include Salsa, Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Bollywood Indian Dancing, Contemporary,Reggaeton, and many more!

2.  Practices & Outings
In order to further promote the social aspect of dancing, UTDC organizes Start of Term and End of Term Parties, monthly dance socials and other dance-related functions and activities.

3. Performance Opportunities
For those interested in performing, UTDC provides all registered students the opportunity to shine at our End of Term parties, regardless of their level of instruction. Those who wish to perform further can join one of our Performance Team classes, and/or participate in events such as the on-campus Hart House Festival of Dance and the Toronto-wide Light the Night Walk.

SAFURA HOSSAIN

President

The first time Safura stepped inside a dance studio was in 2nd grade. Ever since, she has been learning and doing different styles. When in high school, she was introduced to salsa and instantly  felt like she found her style. That's what lead her here to this club. Safura finds great joy providing people with all these amazing opportunities to learn a dance style ​that might make their life a little more amazing.

MOKSHA ANTANI

Room Booking Coordinator

Moksha is a second year Rotman Commerce Student at UofT. She’s a trained Bharatnatyam dancer and will be working with UTDC as a room booking coordinator this coming year.

PARISSA MANTEGHI

Photographer

A third year student at UofT majoring in linguistics, minors in philosophy and semiotics. She started dancing when she was five years old, and has never stopped loving the feeling of tying on a pointe shoe. As Parissa got older she began to have a passion for photography, and now she's very excited to be able to put the two together at UTDC.
